Local Scouts Group Votes To Allow Gay Members

Central Ohio Boy Scout leaders are going public with their support of allowing openly gay youths in the organization. Leaders of The Simon Kenton Council voted with the majority of members of the national organization yesterday to lift a ban on gay scouts, calling rules that deny young men the right to participate "unacceptable." Gay-rights activists want the council to lobby the Boy Scouts of America to allow openly gay adults in leadership positions.
