Local Study Highlights Number Of Kids Injured By Strollers

A new study by researchers at Children's Hospital in Columbus shows thousands of children are taken to emergency rooms with stroller-related injuries each year.  400 thousand kids under the age of five have been treated since 1990.  The injuries usually happen when the children fall out or the stroller tips over.  Half the injuries are minor but there have also been cases of brain trauma. Researchers recommend parents ensure sure a child's stroller or carrier is secured when in use. The study will be published online in the journal "Academic Pediatrics."
