Local Terrorism Suspect To Remain Free On Bond

New York Times

A federal judge says the Columbus man accused of raising money for a former al-Qaida leader may remain free on bond. The judge says a glitch with an electronic monitoring device made it look like Sultane Room Salim had violated his bond by leaving a mosque during prayer services. Salim was released on bond in November and ordered to live with his wife and mother while awaiting trial. His attorneys have denied his involvement in what prosecutors say was an effort to raise money for a former al-Qaida leader killed by the U.S. Prosecutors had asked the judge to revoke the bond.
