Franklin County Sheriff's deputies shot and killed a dog that attacked a police canine during a community event in Columbus yesterday. Deputies were explaining their equipment and tactics during the event when a loose dog ran toward them and attacked the police canine. That dog sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover. The owner of the loose dog, Aaron Slate, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and on a charge of assaulting a police dog.
