Malabar Farm To Get Improvements

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will spendin 500-thousand dollars on restoration efforts over the next year at Malabar Farm State Park in Richland County.

The plan is to make Malabar Farm a showcase for conservation agriculture. The makeover will include improvements to the trails, the main house and farm buildings. Author Louis Bromfield built a 32-room country home and farmed on the land near Mansfield. The state took over Malabar Farm in the early 1970s. State officials want to carry on Bromfield's work and show off practices the average farmer could adopt.
