Man Charged With Stealing Items From Columbus Undercover Officer

Franklin County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a suspect in the theft of an M-16 rifle, a handgun, body armor and a utility belt from the unmarked vehicle of an undercover Columbus police officer. Deputies say the theft took place late Wednesday in the parking lot of a Hilltop restaurant. Deputies say restaurant surveillance video showed 34-year-old Craig Stewart committed the heist. Deputies say Stewart sold the items for drugs and cash. Deputies have not said if they have recovered the items.
