Man Found Incompetent To Stand Trial In Wife's Slaying

A Franklin County judge has ruled a man has dementia and is incompetent to stand trial for killing his wife last February. 72-year-old Leif Mortensen is accused of killing his 74-year-old wife Margaret at their home on Kingpin Drive on the North Side. Police say he called 911 and told an operator he didn't know why he killed his wife and attempted to take his own life.
