Man Who Threatened To Kill Boehner Sentenced

An Indiana man who pleaded guilty to threatening to kill Republican U.S. House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio has been sentenced to four years' probation. 33-year-old Brandon Thompson was also placed on six months of home detention. He was arrested last May for using email and voice mail messages to threaten to kill Boehner over Congress' failure to extend unemployment insurance benefits. Thompson's public defender says her client has bipolar disorder, lingering effects of childhood trauma and financial troubles.
