Marijuana Legalization Backers Propose Delaware County Grow Site

cleveland.com

ResponsibleOhio, the group that hopes to put a marijuana legalization amendment on the ballot this fall, has made two changes to its proposal. Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles reports.

One of the ten growing sites proposed by ResponsibleOhio is now set to be in Delaware County.  Group spokesperson Lydia Bolander says questions had been raised about the Moraine location in Southwest Ohio so backers of the plan decided to move it to central Ohio.  The group has also lowered the tax that would be paid by customers at retail stores from 15 to five percent. Bolander says that change should help eliminate the black market for cannabis. Earlier this week, the group also added a provision to allow Ohioans, with a license, to grow small amounts of pot in their homes for personal use. ResponsibleOhio has yet to start circulating petitions to get the issue to the fall ballot.
