Tennessee-based restaurant chain Max & Erma's is closing 13 Midwest locations as it streamlines operations and deals with underperforming outlets. American Blue Ribbon Holdings purchased the firm in 2010 after the previous owners filed for bankruptcy protection the previous year. The closures will be in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. The first restaurant opened in Columbus in 1972.
