Mayors Want Portman To Change Vote On Gun Legislation

Democratic Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman and mayors of other Ohio cities are asking Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio to change his vote against a piece of gun control legislation. The mayors want Portman to support background checks for buyers at gun shows. Portman's office says the law isn't needed. Campaign finance reports show Portman has received more than one million dollars in contributions from the gun industry. Coleman is a member of the gun control group "Mayors Against Illegal Guns."
