MLK Day Parade Route Changing

City of Columbus

Some changes are coming to Columbus' Martin Luther King Junior Day activities. Columbus Community Relations Commission director Napoleon Bell says the route of the King Day Parade and its destination are changing - but not the times.

For at least the last two decades, the parade started at City Hall and ended up at Vets Memorial. Renovation work at Vets Memorial is prompting this year's changes. The Columbus Department of Public Service says the parade will take the following route:

1. Southbound on Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard to East Spring Street 2. Westbound on East Spring Street to Lester Drive 3. Southbound on Lester Drive to East Long Street 4. Eastbound on East Long Street to the Lincoln Theater at 769 East Long Street
