MLK statewide oratory contest

Columbus, OH – Civil rights leaders say teaching the message of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior to each new generation remains critical in keeping his legacy alive. Each year, kids from around Ohio enter a statewide oratory contest with King's words and work as its focus. Here are some excerpts from this year's winning speeches, delivered by their authors:
3rd grader Amir Idris of South Euclid, 6th grader Sarah Wilkes of Columbus, 7th grader Lazette Carter of Beavercreek and senior Destin Tevis of Columbus.
