More CCS Officials Part Of State Attendance Data Probe

Columbus City Schools

The Ohio Department of Education has added four more Columbus City Schools officials to their attendance data rigging probe, bring the number to 65. The current and former officials include former Superintendent Gene Harris, district interim personnel director Suzy Rhett, and a former executive in charge of curriculum and staff development under Harris. The department is asking nearly all of them to turn in their licenses or meet with investigators. The department subpoenaed records in June about Harris' role in the scandal. Harris met for several hours this week with Franklin County prosecutors.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
