Franklin County Public Health officials will spray for mosquitoes tonight after the bugs in a test pool in Hamilton Township tested positive for West Nile virus. Reese, Shadeville, Lockbourne and several other areas will be sprayed starting at 9 PM. Columbus Public Health has taken over the local testing of mosquitoes this season, after budget concerns forced the state health department to cut its West Nile program. Cuayhoga County health spokesperson Joe Lynch says officials there also plan to spray for mosquitoes, because the wet weather has spawned an increase in the local population.
