Murder Trial Delayed For Former University Of Cincinnati Officer

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

A Hamilton County judge has delayed setting a trial date for a white former University of Cincinnati police officer who fatally shot an African-American motorist after a traffic stop last July.

The judge scheduled a December 15 pre-trial hearing for Ray Tensing to allow more time for evidence-gathering and the filing of expert reports . Tensing is charged in the death of Samuel DuBose after he pulled the  motorist over for a missing front license plate. Tensing has pleaded not guilty and is free on 1 million dollars bond. The university fired Tensing after his indictment.
