Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition - "Dodge a Bullet"

Elizabeth Miller

For those daredevils out there, this week's look into Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition will be sure to thrill. Even for other, more timid people, this week's interactive activity is not as dangerous as it sounds.  This activity tests the myth of whether one can dodge a bullet.

Don't worry though, because there are no real bullets used in this experiment, just a flash of light and a timer.  The timer begins just as the participant stands in front of an outline of a body, and as soon as they see the light, the participant is urged to move and dodge the flash to test how quickly they react.
It is up to the participant to find whatever move best dodges the flash, and to get the fastest reaction time possible.

This is a part of several modules that will focus on specific aspects of the Mythbusters exhibit, including insight into the science behind several of the experiments.

If you'd like to test your bullet dodging skills, check out the Mythbusters exhibit at COSI (open now through Labor Day), and check out wcbe.org for an inside look!
