Central Ohioans will see a new 380 area code introduced because the available phone numbers for the existing 614 code are expected to run out next year. The plan was approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio in 2001. The North American Numbering Plan Administration does not anticipate using the 380 code until at least February 2016. It says many customers aren't yet aware they'll have to get accustomed to a second code. Ohioans under the 740 area code will see a new 220 code starting in April.
