New Fairfield County Jail Possible

Fairfield County commissioners say next month, they will discuss using the county's share of state casino tax revenue to help build a new 35-million dollar jail.

Commissioners say a surge in inmates has created overcrowded conditions at the current lockup. The overcrowding is blamed on a recent spike in drug-related arrests and the state's new sentencing law.
