The City of Columbus is leasing 56-acres of the Scioto Peninsula to the Riversouth Authority to continue years worth of redevelopment work in the area. Matt Lutz with Capitol South Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation says plans call for a parking garage and a park.
Capitol South previously built two parking garages for the city- the Riversouth garage, as well as the 4th and Elm garage. City Auditor Hugh Dorrian says the bonds sold to fund the garages are backed by the city's income tax set-aside. The lease agreement was approved by Columbus City Council on Monday.
