New State Grant Fund For Schools And Teachers

Governor John Kasich has called upon Ohio teachers to tap their creativity as the state makes available a new 250 million dollar education innovation grant fund.  The Straight A Fund is intended to reward creative ideas and programs that significantly boost student achievement, dramatically reduce spending or target an impressive share of resources into the classroom.  The fund's governing board includes State Schoools Superintendent Dick Ross and Susan Zelman, the former superintendent ousted by Kasich. Grants will go to public schools, charter schools, STEM schools, teachers and educational consortia comprising multiple districts, universities, educational service centers or private entities.
