Newark To Consider Banning Circus Animals

City of Newark

Organizers of a circus scheduled to perform in Newark in August have canceled the event after City Council member Mark Fraizer says he will introduce an ordinance banning circuses. The measure would ban exotic circus animals, similar to one approved by Delaware City Council earlier this year. He says circuses treat animals in a cruel manner. The Kiwanis Club organized performances of the Carson & Barnes Circus, with ticket sale proceeds going to charity.
