A Licking County grand jury has decided not to indict a Newark police officer accused of assaulting another man last October. The former girlfriend of Dale Queen has been indicted on charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice for giving false information to police. Queen was charged with assaulting Brent Stenger following a fight at a Halloween party. Police say the charge was filed based on statements by the former girlfriend, 53-year-old Jodi Patterson. Queen remains on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
