Newark Woman Gets Prison Time For Abusing Her Son

The Newark woman charged with locking her 6-year-old son in an unfinished basement for months has  been sentenced to three years in prison. 35-year-old Angel Abram pleaded guilty Monday. Prosecutors say she and her 39-year-old boyfriend, Joshua Bergeron, kept the boy in the basement when he wasn't in school and beat him with a belt. Bergeron was sentenced last March to four years in prison.
