No Early Release For Priest Convicted Of 1980 Slaying

Toledo Blade

A federal district court has denied a request for early release from the Toledo priest convicted of killing a nun. Attorneys for Gerald Robinson told the judge their client has been in a Columbus prison hospice unit since the end of May following a heart attack and wants to die in Toledo. They asked the court to release Robinson to the care of relatives. The judge said he lacks jurisdiction and Robinson is not eligible for compassionate release under U.S. and Ohio law. Robinson was convicted of killing Sister Margaret Ann Pahl at a Toledo hospital in 1980.
