No Indictments In Fatal Greene County Standoff

A Greene County grand jury has declined to indict a Yellow Springs police officer for his use of force in shooting and killing a man who fired at authorities during a standoff at his home. The grand jury says there is not enough evidence to issue an indictment in the July death of 42-year-old Paul Schenck. Police were called to Schenck's home over a domestic dispute, and he allegedly fired nearly 200 shots at officers. Relatives say he had consumed alcohol before the standoff and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder as a teenager.
