No Safety Layoffs In Cincinnati

Hundreds of Cincinnati police officers and firefighters will keep their jobs for at least another year. City Council has approved a municipal budget plan that will not lay off any safety forces. The job cuts were proposed as a means of plugging a multi-million dollar budget gap. But the jobs are being kept through use of more casino tax revenue, a property tax increase, and giving non-safety workers unpaid days off.
