Northam Park Issue Prompts Some UA Residents To Seek City Council Recall Vote

A group of Upper Arlington residents wants voters to recall 5 city council members following their vote last month to approve portions of a controversial plan to remake Northam Park. Those plans include pool, playground and drainage improvement projects.  Plans to move tennis courts and build new sports fields will be left to a task force that will decide their location. A group spokesperson says the revenue comes from a 2.5 percent income-tax increase voters approved last year to repair basic infrastructure, which council promoted but did not say would be used on the park project. The council members have declined comment. The group is collecting petition signatures hoping to get the recall on the November ballot.
