NTSB: Pilots Of Jet That Crashed In Akron Warned Weather For Landing Was Poor

dailymail.co.uk

A National Transportation Safety Board preliminary report says just before a jet crashed into an Akron apartment building on November 10, a flight instructor on another plane warned the pilots weather conditions were barely suitable for landing. Nine people on board were killed in the crash less than two miles from Akron Fulton Airport. The flight instructor radioed that his plane broke out of the cloud deck at the minimum altitude allowed for landing at the airport. Jamie Lebovitz is an aviation expert for the Cleveland law firm of Nurenberg and Paris.

Lebovitz says it's possible the plane crashed due to a malfunction in the left wing.

The report says one of the jet's pilots thanked the flight instructor for the update. The official cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
