NTSB Says Pilots In Akron Plane Crash Tested Negative For Drugs And Alcohol

Toxicology reports out of the Akron plane crash that killed nine people found no sign of drugs or alcohol in the pilots' systems. The National Transportation Safety Board has yet to determine the cause of the November 10 crash that killed two pilots and seven employees of a Florida real estate company. The board also says the co-pilot had been fired from a previous job. Renato Marchese was fired in part because he had trouble calculating the weight and balance of a craft and "couldn't remember things important to the flight." Execuflight, which operated the aircraft, says Marchese's performance in the company's evaluations and training was satisfactory.
