Number Of Local Cryptosporidiosis Cases Nearly Double In One Week

cdc.gov

Columbus Public Health officials say there are now 202 cases of cryptosporidiosis in Columbus and Franklin and Delaware Counties, up from 107 last week. The numbers exceed the collective total from the last four years combined. The cases are linked to area pools and water facilities. 19 cases were reported at Zoombezi Bay water park. The City of Columbus is closing all of its public pools, spray ground and the Scioto Mile fountains today. The City of Dublin is following suit. The moves are precautionary. Health officials are reaching out to schools and day-care centers to encourage the implementation of prevention techniques.
