Obese Inmate Claims Innocence

Nov 30, 2012

Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will says a death row inmate  trying to delay his execution because he's obese is now raising an innocence claim.

Ronald Post is asking the courts to stop his January execution on the grounds his 400-pound weight could cause him severe pain. Post is also trying to prove prosecution claims that he made a full confession to several people have been falsely exaggerated. Will says says Post told the Ohio Parole Board on another man killed a hotel desk clerk in 1983. Will says the claim is new, but Post's attorneys say their client has long implied others were involved.
