Officials Say State Fair Youth Choir Director Firing Not Related To Assistants Misconduct

The director of the Ohio State Fair Youth Choir has been fired. State attorneys and the Ohio Expo Commission say the termination is not related to allegations that 67-year-old Charles Snyder failed to report sexual abuse allegations involving his assistant and choir members. But Columbus police have said Snyder did report that his assistant, 27-year-old Zachary Ruppel, asked prospective members for nude photographs in 2012. Police have been investigating when he learned about it. Snyder was suspended from his position in July after he made the report. Ruppel is scheduled for trial next month
