Former Newark High School Band Director Changes Plea On Sex Charges

Licking County Prosecutor's Office

A former central Ohio band director accused of inappropriate conduct with three students has pleaded guilty to 13 counts, including felony sexual battery and misdemeanor sexual imposition.

Authorities say the charges against 33-year-old Anthony Miller of Westerville reflect his conduct with three female students at Newark High School, where he worked as assistant band director.   Miller's attorney says the change of plea marks the next step for Miller in demonstrating genuine remorse and accepting responsibility. Prosecutors say the maximum sentence for Miller would be more than 34 years.  Miller's sentencing has been scheduled August 15th.
