Ohio Jobless Claims Increase

Oct 25, 2012

The Labor Department says weekly applications for unemployment insurance benefits in Ohio rose by 19-hundred last week due to layoffs in transportation and manufacturing.

Nationally, claims fell by 23-thousand to a seasonally adjusted 369-thousand. The department says the figures appear to have stabilized after being distorted in the previous two weeks by seasonal adjustment problems.  Applications have fluctuated between 360-thousand and 390-thousand since January.
