Ohio Member Of Tuskegee Airmen To Be Laid To Rest Saturday

Funeral services are scheduled Saturday in Dayton for an original member of the Tuskegee Airmen. 96-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Charles Williams passed away last weekend at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Prior to his death, he was one of the oldest living original members of the group of African-American pilots who fought in World War II. The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American aviators in the United States armed forces.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
