Ohio Prisons Director Mourns Loss Of Colorado Corrections Chief

Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Director Gary Mohr says he spoke with Tom Clements as recently as Monday when they discussed issues surrounding executions. Police say Clements was fatally shot last night at his home north of Colorado Springs. Mohr calls Clements - the head of Colorado's correction's department - a professional and personal friend as well as a caring and dedicated administrator. Mohr says he and Clements talked about the personal toll that overseeing executions can take. Authorities say investigators have not ruled anything out, but it could have been related to his job. Mohr told Ohio prisons staff in a letter this morning the shooting is a reminder of the serious nature of corrections' workers responsibilities on and off the job. Mohr tells The Associated Press he hasn't yet considered any security he might have to undertake.
