Ohio Sees Slight Increase In Unemployment

Ohio's unemployment rate for September is 4.8 percent, an increase of one-tenth of a point from August. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says today non-farm payrolls fell last month by 31 hundred to nearly 5.5 million. 275 thousand Ohioans were jobless last month, an increase of 4 thousand from August. The number of unemployed has increased by 12 thousand in the past year. Ohio saw job gains last month in the financial and services sectors, while it saw declines in the construction and manufacturing sectors.
