Ohio State Fair Opens Today; New Butter Sculpture Unveiled

American Dairy Association Midwest

The 163rd annual Ohio State Fair opens today in Columbus. Musical acts, agricultural displays, information booths, rides and food are among the offerings. Attendance has risen in each of the last five years, and organizers hope to top last year's mark of more than 982 thousand. The fair ends on August 7. The fair is honoring the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers with butter sculptures. They feature two Cavs mascots appearing with the NBA championship trophy. Artists spent nearly 500 hours turning 21-hundred pounds of butter into the sculptures.
