Ohio Taxpayers To Cover Planned Parenthood's Legal Costs

Ohio taxpayers will pay more than 45 thousand dollars in legal bills for Planned Parenthood for the dispute involving the disposal of aborted fetuses. It's part of a settlement reached after Planned Parenthood sued the state last year over a rule requiring remains be disposed of in a "humane manner." The rule does not further define "humane." A federal judge had temporarily blocked Ohio health officials from taking legal action against the organization. The state ultimately said it would not enforce the regulation as lawmakers seek to clarify disposal procedures. Several bills are pending in the Ohio Legislature.
