Ohio Town On Band's Three-Stop U.S. Festival Tour

Officials in Troy are celebrating the selection of the western Ohio community as a site for one of only three small-town music festivals staged in the U.S. by the popular British band Mumford & Sons. The expected crowd could double the population in the city of 25,000 when it hosts one of the band's Gentlemen Of The Road stopovers on August 30 and 31. Marcus Mumford made the announcement yesterday on BBC Radio with Zane Lowe.

Musicians involved in the Troy festival include Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, Old Crow Medicine Show, Willy Mason and the Vaccines. Troy's tourism officials liken being chosen for the festival to winning the lottery.

Mike Foley joined WCBE in February 2000, coming from WUFT in Gainesville, Florida. Foley has worked in various roles, from producing news and feature stories to engineering Live From Studio A sessions. A series of music features Foley started in 2018 called Music Journeys has grown into a podcast and radio show. He also assists in developing other programs in WCBE's Podcast Experience. Foley hosts The Morning Mix, a weekday music show featuring emerging and established musicians, our Columbus-area and Ohio-based talent, and additional artists that inspire him.
