Ohio Woman Dies Of Legionnaires' Disease

Cuayhoga County Board of Health

Cuyahoga County health officials say a woman died on Thursday from Legionnaires' Disease. 53-year-old Elaine Stacer of Brunswick was hospitalized on July 24th. Health officials are searching for the source of the bacteria that causes the disease. Six Ohioans died of the disease in 2013.   Stacer's death comes as New York City is dealing with a Legionnaires' Disease outbreak in which 10 people have died and 100 others have been diagnosed.
