The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration say workplace fatalities have been rising in
Ohio due to a lack of attention to safe practices and training, as well as the existence of younger and newer manufacturing and construction workforces. The agency says there have been 17 fatal workplace accidents statewide so far in fiscal year 2015, compared with 46 last year and 38 in 2011.OSHA says job cuts and retirements could be contributing to less experience in the field and more workers unfamiliar with industry hazards.
