The State Highway Patrol is investigating whether a dispatcher properly responded when Chillicothe police called to report a reckless driver shortly before a fatal crash on July 4th. An attorney was killed when a sport utility vehicle struck her vehicle on state Route 50. Before the crash, an officer alerted the patrol about an SUV speeding out of the city. A patrol spokesperson says the dispatcher did not send a trooper or forward the call to another agency for possible follow-up. She says officials also are investigating an allegation that the employee failed to correctly log the call. Charges are pending against the SUV driver.
