The Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating several suspicious telephone calls that have been received by Knox and Morrow county residents from individuals claiming to represent the agency. Officials say the suspects call their victims and claim to be raising money to help the patrol combat impaired driving and texting-while-driving violations. They then ask victims to provide their address in order to receive a letter to return a monetary donation. The patrol says it does not solicit donations from private citizens. Officials encourage residents to report any similar suspicious calls to authorities.
