An Ohio State University task force on sexual violence says more than 38 percent of students report being victimized. The group sent out questionnaires to more than 600 students for its 3 month study, which shows 61 percent of students hear about sexual violence from their peers or by word of mouth at least once a month. The school shows freshmen a video on the topic, but the task force is pushing for more resources to combat the crime. The group says OSU should dedicate more full-time staff to addressing sexual violence on campus, create a clearer plan for the university's response to the crime, and a center that would serve as hub for students seeking education and help. The task force is planning to stage meetings to present the findings to university leaders.
