The Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio warns residents about an increase in scam coupon offers.
Officials are urging residents to verify a coupon deal is real before sharing personal information. They say a simple request for an email or a phone number can link to a fraudulent website that takes personal information and leads to spam calls, text messages and emails from unscrupulous businesses. The BBB says signs of a fake offer include descriptions like it's the only website with that great deal, 75% offers and expensive gift card giveway promos.
