A pilot program is enlisting Pickaway Correctional Institution inmates to assemble and distribute 50 thousand meals for food pantries. The Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is working with a non-profit group that organizes food packaging events around the country. The state is funding the initiative with nearly 13 thousand federal dollars for needy families. The goal is to expand the program statewide.
