Pickerington Schools Lockdown Lifted After Phone Threat

Pickerington Schools students were dismissed without incident this afternoon, after a phone threat prompted a district wide lockdown.

According to the Fairfield County Sheriff's office, staff at Pickerington North High School got a call at 11:30 this morning from a man with a heavy accent who said he was going to bring multiple assualt weapons to a school, in response to the political situation in the Middle East.  The district's schools were immediately placed on lockdown, and deputies were dispatched to the buildings.  Some students reportedly posted photos to Facebook of barricades they placed in their classrooms.  Students were dismissed at the usual time without incidents, although deputies remained on site.  Afternoon kindergarten and all after-school activities were canceled.
