Pilkington Seeks Dismissal Of Court-Ordered Psych Evaluation

dailymail.co.uk

The Bellefontaine woman accused of suffocating her three young sons over a 13-month period has appealed a court's order that she undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

At issue is whether a confession made by Brittany Pilkington may be used at trial. She has pleaded not guilty to killing the children in 2014 and 2015. Pilkington's attorneys say the confession should be tossed because she has brain damage and a low IQ. They tell the Ohio Supreme Court an independent psychiatric evaluation would violate her 5th Amendment rights.
